Personality test: ESTJ

Personality identification test (MBTI) - Interesting exercise, though it's a bit scary betting 'tested'! After 'fighting' with the questionnaire as a score didn't reflect my own thought, the test result is ESTJ - characteristics frequently associated with including:

"Practical, realistic, matter-of-fact, with a natural head for business or mechanics. Not interested in abstract theories; want learning to have direct and immediate application. Like to organise and run activities. Often make good administrators; are decisive, quickly move to implement decisions; take care of routine details."

Not sure if you agree. I think it's fairly reflective despite being an outcome of European English Edition of the test which is not really designed for me.

Back to school | เปิดเทอมละ

Back to school today. Guess what, it's officially only Day 2 of the Semester I'm already overwhelmed with deadlines! How funny. Should be fun though. This Semester, we're doing Animation, Newsroom and Professional Production. Gonna have to think about dissertation as well, hm, what a joy...

Djokovic picked up trophy in Melbourne

I missed the tournament but here the final: Serbian Novak Djokovic took Australian Open title with victory over French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Sunday, 4-6 6-4 6-3 7-6 (7-2).

Read more on bbc website...

I wished Federer pick up his 13th so he'd have got closer to making history but having new faces in final and win is good for tennis. It's been a bit dull with Federer or Nadal winning for the past 12 slams.

Back in Oxford | กลับอังกฤษแล้วค่ะ

Here I am back in town. Thanks to my super kind friends in Edinburgh and Brussels for making me a perfect vacation! See some retrospective reports below.

Been a bit tired after the journey but Oxford was pretty kind for giving me a welcome back sunshine. It's a very nice (and longer) day, I couldn't ask for more so I managed to get myself out supermarket shopping instead of falling asleep at 3pm.

Antwerp drama

Okay, here's our tale - after I took a couple of pictures of their looking-good train station. Then my friend said:

"Okay, we can go back now - if we can catch the next train, in 2min."

"Oh we run then," I replied without knowing the real tasks.

A lot of people were racing down the stairs like us when I realised we were actually running down those steps of something like 3 storeys, quite a mission to make it in such a short time.

My friend kinda suggested in the middle of our run that we should let it go with those people who were running real fast.

"They're really going for it, huh?" She made a brief stop.

"We should go for it too," mistakenly I responded as I realised afterwards that I couldn't run down the escalators that quickly.

"Okay." Then the girl Jungui stepped up her gear and did make it so fast. I was standing with her in front of the train a moment later. We looked at each other thought we made it.

She stepped into the train, just to let the door shut between us!

"Oh no," both of us shocked. Apparently the door was automatic, she couldn't open it to get out and I couldn't do to get in. I had no phone, no ticket, no flat key - they were all in her bag.

18:25 - my friend left Antwerp

As I recovered from the shocking stage, no panic - thanks goodness I had my wallet with me. I went upstairs buying a new ticket for the next train hoping she'd wait for me at home then our drama would have ended rather quickly.

18:38 - my train left Antwerp.

19:30 - I got back in Brussels happily since was pretty sure we'd meet up again soon somehow. I looked around for the Girl when I arrived walking into the supermarket passing the chocolate shop en route to catch the tram home. I didn't see her so assumed she was expecting me at home.

20min later I got home ringing the flat bell without even checking if the light was on. After three rings, no response... Then I realised I was in another mini crisis.

"Hm, hope she didn't go back to get me in Antwerp. Where is she now. Come back here please."

After waiting outside the flat for quite a while, I was freezing and thought I had have quite enough of standing alone outdoor 'study' walls of graffiti. I really wished I had my phone or the key. I rang her neighbour who was kindly let me into the doorway.

21:00 - reconciliation

I heard someone unlocking the door, of course I hope it was her and there she was. Big hugs for our reconciliation! We were so glad it all took us only within a few hours.

After all catching up what happened when we parted, we ended the night with our last Thai supper. Yummy and happy again.

More around Antwerp

Yes, before our 'Antwerp drama,' we did quite a bit of sightseeing.

Ghent

Belgian university town, as pretty and lovely as Bruges yet larger with some more to see/do.

Our highlight was the painting 'The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb' by Jan van Eyck.

Bruges

Cute town, looks kinda Venice. The Cathedral here got a sculpture 'Madonna and Child' by Michelangelo, here face looks like Madonna of Pietà, St. Peter in Vatican City.

Belgium

Belgium: 16-27 January 2008

I stayed with my super great friend in Brussels, the trade lawyer who enjoys washing up. We made our way out of town to Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp on weekends. They were all great fun, (despite a bit of drama with trains from Antwerp) perfect vacation!

You must not get us wrong, we didn't only have lots of chocolate but also plenty of Thai and Korean food - thanks to the impressive Brussels Asian supermarket.

Living away from home... อดไปงานแต่งงานน้อง

... it does make me miss a number of things so far.

My grandaunt passed away last month, and I couldn't be there at her funeral.
Then next month my younger sister is getting married, again I wouldn't be able to be present there at their wedding.

Oh well, I've only lived away from home for four months, it feels like I've missed a number of things already.

Will be back home soon anyway.
